Klek a little village located in the beautiful bay along the road between Split and Dubrovnik. It is situated along the Croatian border Republike with Bosnia and Herzegovina , in the municipality of Catchment , u Dubrovačko – Neretva county. Formerly it was part of slavneDubrovačke , and today it has some two hundred inhabitants who live off fruit and vegetables , fishing and tourism .
In the cutting Klek , densely covered with olive trees , mulberry trees and vines , is a ta
ll, rectangular tower of the Venetian era, still preserved ( known as Nonkovic tower ) and the chapel and the remains of the wall of the XVII – XVIII . The town is the new church of St . Peter and Paul , built in 2004.

Above the village are the ruins of the old town Smrdan – well-preserved walls probably Venetian fortress , which was used to monitor the entrance to the Gulf of Neum . In its desolate interior is the church of Sv. Mary .
Above the ruins on a steep knoll stands a better vantage point Gradina fortress from Roman times , protected by three concentric drystone walls , with a view on isthmus of Ston on the Peljesac peninsula , ušćeNeretve and Narona . Not far from Smrdan there is a large necropolis – tombstones from the Middle Ages .
Surrounded by ancient olive trees, oleanders and drugimmediteranskim plants Klek is an ideal destination for a quiet and comfortable stay for couples and families .
Large beach areas along the length of the village . The beach is clean , and visitors are offered the possibility of renting scooters , kayaks , umbrellas , chairs and bicycles . Near the village are deep , rape , and Radalj Komarna with beautiful
beaches . South of Klek is Mornačna , small sandy beaches and coves with unspoiled nature and olive groves .
In addition to swimming and water recreation for tourists are available četiriteniska courts, miniature golf , table tennis , bowling , as well as a playground. In the center is a large parking lot in the shade of olive trees .
In addition to private renters , accommodation can be found in two small hotels , and are at your service and several restaurants and cafes , patisseries , pizzerias , two mini-mart , post office, exchange office , newsagent and stalls with fresh fruit and vegetables . Klek has an art gallery , ” Tombstone ” .

Long and illuminated seafront promenade – Lungo Mare , connects with Radalj Klek and especially the traffic in the evening .

From tourist destinations recommend Ston , Mljet , Korcula , Makarska (70 km) and Split (130 km ) in neighboring Bosnia and Herzegovina Medjugorje (50 km) , Mostar and Sarajevo.U are nearby cities Opuzen (10 km ) , Metkovic ( 20 km) and Neum ( BiH 4 km) where you are at the service of big supermarkets , many restaurants and taverns , butcher shops and fish markets , banks and everything needed for an unforgettable vacation .
The nearest airport is Ćilipi Dubrovnik ( 85 km ) .
